Jerk is a style of cooking which seems to have originated in Jamaica. Meat such as chicken and pork are typically dry rubbed with Jerk seasoning then slowly cooked or grilled, like a BBQ. A marinade is generally applied, usually with a citrus juice, such as orange juice. Three key ingredients in jerk seasonings are thyme, allspice, and hot peppers.
This Jerk seasoning has all the flavor but without the heat. If you are looking for a more traditional, hot spicy Jerk Seasoning, try our Jamaican Jerk, or for those who LOVE the heat, try our Sizzlin' Jamaican Jerk.
Our own recipe, blended with garlic, onion, salt, black pepper, red pepper, allspice, basil, dextrose, ginger, bay leaf, paprika, and thyme.
