Baharat Chicken with Carrots and Onions

Baharat Chicken with Carrots and Onions

Meaning “spices” in Arabic, Baharat is the star of this dish. This is our take on a delicious, full-flavored recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless chicken breasts, pounded flat or evenly sliced
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, julienne cut
  • 2 medium sized carrots, cut in half and sliced into quarters
  • 2 tablespoons Stuart’s Spices Baharat

Instructions

  1. Coat the chicken in Baharat seasoning, adding more if desired
  2. In a bowl, toss the carrots in 1/2 tablespoon of oil and lightly season with Baharat
  3. In a large frying pan, heat the rest of the olive oil over a medium-high heat
  4. Add carrots and onions and sauté for 3-5 minutes
  5. Add the chicken and continue to sauté until the chicken is cooked through and carrots are tender
  6. Serve and enjoy!

Tips

Make it vegetarian: you can substitute cauliflower, eggplant, tofu, or garbanzo beans for the chicken.

Make it with chicken thighs: you can use chicken thighs instead of breasts, just allow for extra cooking time, especially if you’re using bone-in
