Churro Waffles

Made using chocolate syrup and strawberries!


For the waffles:

  • 2 cups flour + 3 tablespoons
  • 1 1/2 baking powder
  • dash of salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Stuart’s Spices Confection Perfection
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

For the topping:

  • 4 tablespoons Stuart’s Spices Confection Perfection set aside in a bowl large enough to dunk a waffle into
  • 5 tablespoons melted butter set aside in a bowl large enough to dunk a waffle into
  • Chocolate syrup of choice for drizzling


  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar together
  2. In a separate medium bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form, you can cheat and use a hand mixer
  3. Add vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla into the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix gently until batter is formed, lumps are okay because you don’t want to overmix
  4. Fold egg whites into the rest of the mixture, being careful not to fold too fast
  5. Grease or spray waffle maker and set to medium heat if you can, each waffle maker is different!
  6. While making the waffles, don’t stir the batter in between pours – this could knock the air out of the batter and you’ll end up with soggy waffles
  7. As waffles come off the waffle maker, dip first into melted butter, and then into the bowl of Confection Perfection
  8. Layer on a plate with strawberries, top with chocolate syrup, and enjoy!
