Crème Brûlée French Toast Casserole

It takes a little time to prepare, but it’s well worth the wait!


  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Stuart’s Spices Confection Perfection
  • ½ cup butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup, agave, or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 10 – 12 slices French bread, cut 1-inch thick
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups half & half


  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup to a boil, stirring constantly
  2. Pour into greased 13×9 baking dish
  3. Lightly brown French bread in oven, then place on top of the caramel mixture in the baking dish
  4. Fill gaps with any remaining bread
  5. Sprinkles 1 tablespoon of Confection Perfection over the bread
  6. In large bowl, mix eggs, half & half, vanilla, and remaining Confection Perfection
  7. Pour over bread, slowly, to keep the bread from floating
  8. Cover and chill for 8 hours or overnight
  9. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking
  10. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 40-50 minutes until custard has set
  11. Let cool for five minutes before cutting
  12. Cut and serve bottom side facing up
