Recipe for a classic pulled pork using our mouthwatering House Hog Rub!
Ingredients
8-10 pounds pork shoulder
3-4 Tsbp.
Stuart’s Spices
House Hog Rub
one can stout beer,
or you can substitute using a dark soda
Instructions
Trim all visible fat from the pork shoulder
Score ½ inch cuts into the pork shoulder in a 1-inch grid
Rub the House Hog Rub into the meat, including the cuts
Wrap the meat in plastic wrap or place in a covered container
Refrigerate overnight, or for at least 4 hours
Place unwrapped, seasoned meat into crock pot and cover with the beer or dark soda
Cook on low for eight hours or until meat is tender enough to fall apart when a fork is inserted
Remove roast from broth and pull meat apart using two forks
Return the shredded meat to the broth to keep it moist
Serve on a dish or make a sandwich with your favorite hard roll and some pickled cabbage
