Allspice Whole

Allspice has the flavor and aroma of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and pepper, and is commonly used in jerk rubs, moles, some curries, soups, sausages, and for pickling and baking.  In the Middle East it is mixed with two parts ground black pepper and a touch of cinnamon as an everyday, on everything seasoning. 5 whole allspice berries are equal to about 1 tsp ground allspice.
