Cumin is an ancient spice, dating back to the Greek and Roman times. It has remained one of the most popular and widely used spices over the centuries, with its complex flavor described as pungent, peppery, warm, and spicy-sweet. Cumin is a staple in Mexican, Latin American, Indian and Mediterranean cuisine. It is a central ingredient in curry powders, chilies, and in rubs for lamb, pork, beef, and poultry.
We carry both cumin seeds and fresh ground cumin. Our ground cumin is one of our signature spices; we grind it regularly, right in our Shop at the edge of the South Wedge. One smell or taste and you'll quickly understand why we take the time to grind our cumin - the freshness and boldness of the flavor makes an amazing difference in your food!
