Very popular in Utica and central New York State, this is a crushed red pepper that has been ground a little more fine. Crushed red pepper is probably the most common chile pepper used in cooking, and our Utica Cut Red Pepper offers the same opportunity for the bold, medium flavor but without large pieces of pepper. These twice cut red pepper flakes are actually a combination of dried peppers, which is why they can vary from one restaurant to another. They have a medium heat, and are most commonly seen in Italian restaurants, where you can shake them onto your food. Great on pizza, spaghetti sauce, cheese dishes, marinades, or mixed with oil as a dipping sauce for bread.
