Sage Dressing

A beautiful yet simple accompaniment to any roast dinner!

  • 4-5 loaves sliced white bread
  • 4-5 sticks unsalted butter
  • 3 large onions, diced or pureed
  • 1 bunch fresh celery, diced or pureed
  • 1 tablespoon Stuart’s Spices Ground Sage
  • 1 tablespoon Stuart’s Spices Garlic Granules
  • 2 tablespoons Stuart’s Spices Crazy Salt

  1. In one medium sauce pot, combine onions and butter and in another medium sauce pot, add celery and cover with water
  2. Cook both mixtures for 20-25 minutes on low-medium heat until cooked down and semi-smooth, stirring occasionally, pots can remain uncovered
  3. While onion and celery mixtures are cooking, cube your sliced bread
  4. In a large pot, layer bread and mixtures, adding spices a little bit at a time, stirring gently to avoid turning bread into mush, season to taste
  5. Once fully incorporated, preheat oven to 375° F and grease a 9 x13 baking pan
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the dressing into the baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden and crispy on top, you can cover the dressing with aluminum foil for the first 15 minutes, so it doesn’t burn
