Stuart’s Tasty Turkey Roast

Wow your crowd with this mouthwatering turkey!


  • 1 12-14 pound turkey, giblets removed from inside and patted dry
  • 3-4 tablespoons Stuart’s Spices Turkey Rubmore if desired
  • 1 stick salted butter, cut into thin pats
  • Optional but highly recommended step: Give your turkey the ‘spa treatment’ before roasting with our mouthwatering turkey (poultry) brine!


  1. Preheat the oven to 325° F and set your oven rack low to accommodate the turkey
  2. Put the turkey in your roasting pan of choice
  3. Slide pats of butter underneath the skin, making sure to get as much even coating as possible
  4. Season both the inside and outside with the turkey rub
  5. Roast the turkey until internal temperature reaches 165°F  or 175°F in thigh, roughly 3 hours, basting once every hour
  6. Remove turkey from oven and tent it very loosely with foil, letting it rest for at least 20 minutes
  7. Transfer to platter or carving board to slice
  8. Reserve pan juices to make gravy or to serve with turkey


To make an outstanding gravy: Use the giblets and neck with the juices from the roasting pan! We use a simple cornstarch and water mixture to thicken it up, with added salt if necessary.

Optional stuffing idea: To pair with our turkey rub, we highly suggest a stuffing of garlic, rosemary, and lemons. All of those flavors will work together in perfect, delicious harmony!
