Harissa Kit, Ancho

This spicy chili pepper paste is a staple in the Middle East and North African countries. The rich, complex flavor of the spices mixed with the spicy peppers is excellent when used on meats or with grains such as couscous.

We offer three different kits, each using different peppers. The Ancho offers heat but also a wonderful smoky flavor. We also offer Guajillo Harissa Kits and Chipotle Harissa kits.

Our own recipe, blended with ancho peppers, sea salt, paprika, cumin, coriander, garlic, caraway, and black pepper.

Instructions: 

1. Cut peppers in half, remove seeds, and soak in 1 cup of hot water for 10 minutes.
2. Drain but save the water.
3. Blend peppers, seasoning, and 1/2 cup reserved water ( or use 1/2 cup olive oil if preferred) until smooth.
